2008 State Competition
The First Annual New Mexico Envirothon was held April 18 -19, 2008, at Bonita Park Nazarene Church Camp in Ruidoso. Thirty-three students and advisors from throughout the state participated. A total of five teams participated in the first state event.

Students answered questions at each category station located at different locations in the park. Categories in the competition included: Forestry, Aquatics, Wildlife, Soils, and the Special Environmental Topic. The Special Environmental Topic this year was "Recreational Impacts on Natural Resources." Each student also took an individual written exam.

The first team to represent New Mexico at the Canon National Envirothon in Flagstaff, Arizona, are "The Vectors" from Bosque School & Cibola High School.
