| 2008 State Competition |
| The First Annual New Mexico Envirothon was held April 18 -19, 2008, at Bonita Park Nazarene Church Camp in Ruidoso. Thirty-three students and advisors from throughout the state participated. A total of five teams participated in the first state event. |

Students answered questions at each category station located at different locations in the park. Categories in the competition included: Forestry, Aquatics, Wildlife, Soils, and the Special Environmental Topic. The Special Environmental Topic this year was "Recreational Impacts on Natural Resources." Each student also took an individual written exam. |
